The Alphirk Dunes are tall, rolling hills of sand. The dunes have an air about them that's lonely, but, nonetheless, it's great to pay them a visit with a group; they're an excellent place to find large game.

Be sure to tread lightly when you get to the Quicksand Fields. Make one wrong move, and you'll be sucked into the sand, inch by horrifying inch. Once you're stuck, it's possible to get out, but only with great difficulty and a large possibility of a broken leg.

A rocky plateau rises from the sand, uneven and harsh on paws suited to soft sand, but otherwise, not very difficult to climb. A notable feature here is a naturally formed rock bridge, called the Alrai Bridge (no surprise here).

The Trickling River is the only place besides the oasis where you'll find moisture in the desert--and barely any moisture, at that. It's a small stream that, barely hanging in there, all but vanishes come the Dog Days of summer.
