e yes ✦ Mars, the leader, has red eyes; Saturn, the eldest, has eyes reminiscent of a pair of pearls; Mercury has black eyes; Jupiter, the youngest, has amber eyes.
f ur ✦ All four brothers have standard black fur, but Saturn's fur is much shorter, nearly resembling that of a short-haired dog.
a ppearance ✦ Beyond the color of their fur, the Four Horsemen, brothers though they are, have very little in common as far as appearance. The one other common feature among them is the fact that they are all of ample build - one suitable for solo bull fighting. In other words, they have grown far beyond the normal stature of the common wolf. This may be due to a genetic defect, or something far more sinister...
Mars, the leader and second eldest, has a single white "star" on his forehead - a softly rounded diamond, white in color. He has a slightly more sleek build than Jupiter or Mercury, but his more muscular than Saturn. He has a very deliberate stride and air to him, and his red eyes are almost always consumed by a dangerous glare. He nearly never smiles.
Saturn, the eldest of the four, is very thinly built and is the smallest. Despite his relatively young age, he has longer fur around his muzzle, giving the impression that he is much older than he looks. He has the same regal air that Mars does, but not as much grace due to the fact that he is completely blind. He has two "stars" on his forehead, spaced as though Mars' star could fit between them.
Mercury is the third eldest, being an hour younger than Mars. He is the biggest of all four brothers (he towers over Mars), and by far the most muscular. A smirk or snarl always graces his muzzle. His step is deliberate, and his stature imposing. He also has two "stars," set for Saturn's and Mars' stars to fit between. They are tilted, as if on an axis to the others.
Jupiter is the youngest, and by far the most clumsy. He is much fluffier than the others, taking on the appearance of a glorified American Eskimo, with none of the happy grins. Despite his tendency to snap, he is the most amiable of all four... as well as the most fickle. Jupiter's stars are set far apart, on the horizontal.
p ower ✦ All four Horsemen have a limited telepathic power. They can talk to each other through their minds, but cannot project their thoughts outside the four of them. It does, however, allow them to coordinate their movements no matter the distance between them. Each Horseman has a main power that differs among them.
The defensive line includes both Saturn and Jupiter. Jupiter can produce a limited shielding effect that can work at multiple points at a time, but is vulnerable if enough contact points are active (in other words, a group of wolves may be able to break through, but a single wolf would have virtually no chance). Contact with the shield does no damage to the perpetrator, and the nearly invisible effect can expand to any radius within ten feet. Any breach of the shield is usually dealt with by Saturn, who holds the power of speed. The eldest of the brothers travels nearly as fast as sound and uses snaps of his jaws to block bites aimed at his brothers. He cannot see, however, so he relies on Jupiter (or Mars, in a pinch) to tell him the general locations of the enemy. His nose and hearing helps him the rest of the way, leaving him with a surprising amount of accuracy - but not a completely reliable amount.
The offensive line consists of Mercury and Mars. Mercury does not have a power, per se. He relies on his brute strength, which is great in itself, but subject to exhaustion. Mars can breathe fire in the same way a dragon does, and the stream of bursts can be endless as long as his lungs are uninjured. He is the most protected of the four due to his devastating power, but if one can get at him, the others will fall into disarray. Only a coordinated attack and defeat of Mars will have this effect. Defeating Mercury, Jupiter, or Saturn will not significantly effect their ability to coordinate, but defeating one after the other or separating them is the most intelligent way of going about killing the Horsemen... and yet it remains to be successfully attempted.

q uirks ✦ The Horsemen have a certain belief, traceable to the first days of the Originals - the Polaris pack. However, their belief in the Great Wolf has been twisted and distorted into an ugly portrait of its ancestor. Their basic beliefs are the same - the world around them is sacred, including prey; honor thy elders; and so on - but any deviation from this path is deemed blasphemy and punishable by instant eradication. And what's more, they believe they were sent specifically to be the Messengers of the Great Wolf, to eradicate the Blasphemers... and thus, they deem said wolves intolerable, worthy of nothing but dirt and a shallow grave.
p ersonality ✦ All four wolves hold the attitude mentioned above, but each varies slightly from the norm. Mars is completely dedicated to his assumed position and does not deviate from it in any way. He is often very serious, but initially diplomatic. He gives wolves - and their packs - one warning, two days before he declares their eradication if they have not converted to what he calls "The Undeniable Truths." Saturn is less violent and much quieter, preferring to offer words of wisdom to his brothers when they need it. Mercury is the most violent, often the first to shred a foe before Mars has time to act. He often has to be restrained by Jupiter, who is by far the friendliest of the Horsemen. The latter does not like killing, but follows his brother's interpretation of the Great Wolf to the letter and will defend any of his brothers - and the deity - to his last breath.

r elations ✦ The Four Horsemen rarely interact socially with anyone else; however, the prospect of having a small rogue pack to help them in their exploits has not entirely escaped their minds.
h istory ✦ Apparently, all four brothers were born to the same female, a wispy little thing that had several different "mates" - which would be pushing it because these "mates" were often just males who took advantage of her when her sons were not around. However, she managed to teach her surviving offspring - Mars, Mercury, Saturn, and Jupiter - the ways of the Great Wolf. It was left to them to interpret the information, since the female died not long after giving birth to Jupiter and his sisters, who were stillborn. Due to the traumatic string of events that cursed their younger lives, they adopted a twisted outlook on the world... and after a series of "signs," deemed themselves its protectors.
Cue bloody crusade to cleanse the world of non-believers.
