f ur ✦ Meridian has a rich, dark blue fur ranging in shades from lightest to darkest from her underbelly to her back. The length and general appearance of her fur is anything but notable - it has no luster of the normal female coat, nor the length. It is, however, interesting in its own way: of medium length and soft to the touch.
a ppearance ✦ Contrary to her sex, Meridian has the stature and body structure of a male wolf. Her muscles are far more toned than would be expected of her, and she carries her head proudly. She has retained the genetically permanent lithe figure of a female, and obviously lacks certain appendages that come with masculinity. Therefore, to the naked eye, she appears to be a very well-muscled girl, but a girl nonetheless. She has, however, obtained a way around this fact.
Usually, she can be seen prowling about the packlands with a blank expression on her face, but she is capable of smiling... and of snarling.
p ower ✦ Meridian has the power of deception - she can thoroughly convince wolves of something that does not exist, has never existed, and will never exist. For instance, she can erase recognition of her own scent and replace it with a fabricated memory of a male's scent. The limit of this power depends on the amount of wolves she is deceiving at the same time, as well as the strength of their minds and the strength of the idea. For instance, she can effectively fool groups of wolves as to her sex with little problem and the effect lasts for weeks, but in order to break the limits of reality for a wolf, such as changing relationships or the appearance of another wolf, she must use huge amounts of energy - and the effect only lasts for about ten minutes. In other words, the more rooted in the mind a thought or perception is, the more difficult it is for her to change it. Because of this, she makes absolutely sure that any new acquaintance is thoroughly convinced that she is a guy.

p ersonality ✦ In a single word, Meridian is careful. She goes great lengths to ensure that her charade is five feet thick. She often asserts herself over other females, and feigns bursts of testosterone. Therefore, she is often busy snapping at males who aren't doing their jobs correctly or crooning at a female. Other than that, she takes abnormal reactions - such as pushy females or wimpy males - in stride. Usually. Some things take her by surprise, and in these times she panics and often accidentally loses her focus on convincing everyone that she's a guy. After such episodes, it is difficult for her to "clean up" and erase memories and realizations - which she never does completely.
In her quieter times, however, she acts her sex more than she might like. In these times, she is softspoken and intelligent - not the brutish male that many have come to stereotype. More often than not, however, she quickly realizes how she's acting and attempts to regain her masculine personality... which usually ignites suspicions in those nearby.

r elations ✦ Meridian has no living relatives, since all of her "older" sisters died when they were puppies and her parents are long gone. She does, however, treat Legend as a father figure.
h istory ✦ Years earlier, a wolf couple in Andromeda gave birth to litter after litter of all female pups, all of which died within months. Finally, after the death of their final pup, they became so heartbroken that they began to pray fervently to the Great Wolf to give them sons, pups that would not die. The Great Wolf heard their prayers, and again they were graced with pups.
Contrary to their hopes, they gave birth to a single female pup. At first, they cursed their luck... but then realized that although the pup was biologically female, she gave off the scent of a male. In that instant, they knew that this pup was special. They called her Meridian in honor of her ability to be one sex and imitate another, and raised her to be male. They taught her from the beginning that she was indeed female, but should act like a male in order to make a place for herself in the world. So, following the teachings of her parents, she became psychologically male.
Within her first year, she discovered the source of her gender-changing ability, and harnessed and tampered with this power until she truly understood it.
